Mark Little (Friend and colleague on Brampton Parish Council)

Stuart cared for his fellow villagers and worked hard for them through the Parish Council, the Village Hall and through his wider interests in local affairs and history. He was always willing to give of his time. He will be much missed.

A good colleague for many years and one with a reputation for being doggedly committed and with an incisive mind. Always interesting to chat to about 1950's nostalgia of all forms of transport. Will be missed. Just a pity retirement was not rather longer.

Sorry to hear the sad news. I completely agree about Stu's drive and determination at work. Once he was on a case you knew he would explore all angles of it and he was therefore a joy to work with and better still someone whose teaching you could rely on.

Stuart Wilson once described me as " a Brexiteer, but one of the nicer ones".
Will really miss seeing your blogs online Stuart, we rarely agreed politically but you always kept it good natured when I could be hot headed . A true gentleman with a heart of gold.
Deepest condolences to sue and family
Darren

I remember Stuart from both his Nottingham CIU and East Midlands Airport days, well before he became part of 'Anglia' Intel. He was always a very good team player, always prepared to assist others. Whenever the Mobile Task Force visited EMA he always went out of his way to help us out and made us feel welcome. Sometimes against the wishes of his local colleagues and management. Stuart was always a real Customs Officer.

My sincere sympathies to Sue, Mark, Neil and John and family. I was lucky enough to work with Stuart in HM Customs & Excise and you could not ask for a more reliable and supportive colleague. His favourite quote often coming into play! More importantly Stuart was an honest and decent man and he will be greatly missed.
