Stuart was a top bloke , sorry for your loss
and on Stuart's timeline: Rip Stuart, one of the nicest kindest blokes I've ever had the pleasure to ever meet .
We rarely ever agreed on politics but he never allowed it to come between us.
When we moved to Brampton back in 2007 , he made us feel
very welcome and I will forever be grateful. I wish I had told you how
good your book is ( mudlark and onions).
Sue , so sorry for your loss

Very sad to see that one of my FB friends Stuart Wilson has left us for ever. More importantly Stuart was a childhood friend - we lived in police houses in Slough during the sixties - we played together nearly everyday but I hadn't seen him since 1966. Stuart suffered very badly from athsma from childhood. RIP old friend.

response from Claire Rennie:
Dear Roy, Thank you for your post.
As the youngest sister of Stuart Wilson for all the years living in many police houses growing up with Mum and Dad (Stuart had left home by then) they would always have us peeled to the tele when the BBC credits came up looking out for your name and shouting, 'that's Stuart's friend!' when we spotted it. So you have never been forgotten as a friend and I know your name even though I don't know you.

response from Roy Gould
Thank you all - it's a strange feeling when childhood friend dies. Stuart is still 11 or 12 in my head. He also introduced me to the brilliant " The Bricklayer Lament" by Gerald Hoffnung which he had on a 33rpm LP - we rolled around his parents front room in hysterics. Thanks for doing that, Stuart - here it is in memorium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZUJLO6lMhI (copy and paste this link for a good laugh!)
